A week full of exciting discussions, international networking and new perspectives lies behind the participants of the 8th EUSSET Summer School. From 23 to 26 August 2024, young researchers from all over the world met at TU Wien to immerse themselves in the world of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW).
With the aim of better understanding and critically questioning the design of socio-technical systems, the Summer School offered a unique mix of intensive knowledge transfer and practical experience. For this, the participants received a broad programme of in-depth insights into the central concepts and methods of CSCW as well as practical guidance on how to apply a CSCW perspective to current technology topics such as machine learning, sustainability and participatory design. In addition, skills in scientific writing and publishing with regard to CSCW were taught.
A highlight of the week was the social dinner sponsored by the Center for Technology and Society (CTS) at the Badeschiff in Vienna. This event offered space for personal exchange and international networking in a relaxed atmosphere.
We are looking forward to seeing the results of the Summer School and are delighted to have supported the event as CTS.
