On September 8 and 9, 2026, the CTSi (Center for Technology-driven Social Innovation), together with the CTSi//circle.responsibleComputing , will serve as a co-host of the international IFIP HCC17 “Human Choice and Computers” Conference at TU Wien. The renowned conference of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) brings together experts from academia, research, and practice to discuss current questions surrounding human-AI interaction and the societal implications of digital technologies.
Under the theme “Combined Intelligence: Human-AI Systems in Everyday Contexts,” the conference explores the opportunities and challenges arising from collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence. Topics such as trustworthy AI, governance, privacy, and societal responsibility address key issues that are closely linked to TU Wien’s strategic goals of advancing digital transformation, enhancing international visibility, and strengthening the exchange of knowledge, methods, and technologies. As a co-host, the CTSi fosters international dialogue between academia, industry, and society, thereby supporting TU Wien’s position as an internationally connected and socially impactful innovation university.
A special highlight of the conference will be the Social Dinner at Vienna City Hall on the evening of September 8. Together with other partners, the CTSi contributes to the funding of the event, creating an additional opportunity for personal exchange, international networking, and the initiation of new collaborations.
Through its engagement as a co-host, the CTSi further expands its international network and contributes to bringing TU Wien’s vision of a “creative urban tech university” to life: a university that views technological innovation in close connection with social responsibility and actively contributes to shaping a digital future that serves people.
